The name ‚family necklace’ was given to this type of jewelry after our founder Constanze made and engraved the first of these necklaces for herself around two decades ago with the names of her three children, her husband and the wedding date. The term has become established over the last two decades. However, the family necklace is not just a piece of jewelry for the family. In the long time and after making hundreds of family necklaces, we have been able to realize the most beautiful ideas. Because such a piece of jewelry should be authentic. For example, the pendants for one customer were engraved with the stages of a trip around the world, for another with lines from her favorite song. One family chain unites the best friends, the next the favorite pets. Yet another expresses the motto of life or commemorates perfect moments in life, such as getting to know someone, a first kiss, an engagement, a wedding and perhaps even a divorce. All these ideas are joined by love or happiness symbols, heart lines, handwritten wishes and geographical coordinates. The possibilities are endless. For many, the family chain becomes a talisman, an everyday companion that simply belongs to you and that you can't leave the house without. Each strawberry & cream family necklace is a unique piece, a custom-made item. We personalize the individual pendants of your family chain with an individual engraving according to your wishes and ideas. In addition to the names of your family members and beloved pets, you can also choose initials, birth and other special dates, a word, a place with a personal meaning, symbols, geographical coordinates, lucky or angel numbers, zodiac signs and constellations. For a visualization and to test the possibilities of implementation, we will be happy to set your engraving on the screen in advance and advise you on the choice of engraving and font. We decide together whether engraving should and can be done in lines or in a circle, for example. The possibilities for personalized engravings are limitless: almost any font, even your own handwriting, can be engraved. The creative process that precedes production is just as important to us as the result. Every piece of jewelry has to be perfect. After all, jewelry should look good - it should be worn and not be left in a drawer. That is why it is important to Constanze to be able to advise every customer and their ideas comprehensively in advance. Each of our high-quality pieces of jewelry is unique from the Munich studio and our German partner workshops - individually engraved, the result of the finest craftsmanship at the highest level and with a perfect finish. Various options for your family chain with engraving
Your family chain is a custom-made creation. Choose from different classic chain styles, such as anchor, pea or ball chains, to name but a few. We manufacture the pendants in sizes ranging from 14 to 20 mm in diameter. Four precious metals are available for our high-quality jewelry. The typical s&c family chain has 5 pendants and is approx. 50 cm long for everyday wear. If required - depending on body size and stature - We are happy to produce shorter or longer chains and alternatively with just 3 pendants. Family necklaces with 7 or even 9 pendants are also possible. However, a chain length of 90 cm is required for this. Our goldsmiths and specialists in all areas of craftsmanship produce each individual piece of your new favorite necklace in many steps by hand. We cut out the discs for the pendants especially for you and drill and polish them individually by hand. After custom diamond or laser engraving, we attach the pendants to the necklace you have chosen in the order you have specified beforehand.
If you do not have an idea for all the pendants, you can also order unengraved pendants first: The engravings can be added one by one. We will also be happy to advise you on this. For example, if the necklace is being given as a wedding gift and family planning is just beginning, you can bring your family necklace back to us later and we will complete it as soon as the new addition to the family has a name. If engravings that have already been made need to be changed at a later date, this is only possible by replacing the pendant. It must be remade. This is because engravings are irreversible. An alternative would be to engrave a blank back and turn the pendant over.
Our original 750 gold family chain is a real classic. You'll never get tired of it. Thanks to the production with 18-karat real gold - in yellow, rose or white gold - it remains radiantly beautiful for eternity and retains its radiant shine. For the silver option, we recommend plating with palladium and rhodium - as with white gold. This prevents the tarnishing that is typical of sterling silver.
